About ASTC
The American Society of Theatre Consultants (ASTC) was founded in 1983 as a non-profit mutual benefit organization for professional theatre consultants. Members specialize in the design of state-of-the-art entertainment and presentation facilities, and are experienced in facility planning, theatrical systems and technology, specifications, sustainability, and accessibility. The ASTC was founded to provide a collaborative forum for our members to share knowledge, experience and best practices in the design and equipping of these unique and demanding facilities.
The ASTC is where professional theatre consultants from North America discuss traditional methods and new ideas with the goal of developing entertainment, educational, worship, and business assembly spaces for future generations. The Society provides a structure for bringing topical issues to the forefront with policymaking by those who know the business. Our members use our collective voice to promote a better and safer industry. By developing this alliance, based upon shared interests and goals, the ASTC plays an active role in fostering awareness, interpretation, understanding, education, appreciation, and inclusiveness within the industry.
