Outgoing president, Peter Rosenbaum, served in that position for more than six years. New president Heather McAvoy noted, “Peter guided the Board and Society through major updates to our governing documents and organizational structure and initiated a new outreach program to connect high school students with ASTC member mentors, laying the foundation for a more diverse and inclusive Society in the future. He also spearheaded the planning of our 2019 Forum in Havana, Cuba. I’m grateful for his leadership and his friendship. Viva Peter!” Rosenbaum will remain on the board as a director.
Heather McAvoy has long been active with ASTC, so her election as president is well-deserved. Peter Rosenbaum remarked, “As Vice President of the ASTC, Heather has led the implementation of many initiatives of the Board of Directors, most recently the restructuring of the organization’s bylaws. Heather’s additional role as chair of the Conference Committee has also shown her incredible ability to organize and manage the complex planning behind the ASTC’s Annual and Forum meetings around the country every year. I am so very happy to see my friend and colleague, Heather McAvoy, elected as President of the American Society of Theatre Consultants.”
R. Duane Wilson continues his invaluable service as Secretary and Treasurer. The membership of ASTC elects Board members to two year terms, and the Board in turn selects its officers yearly. Heather McAvoy, Paul Sanow, and Peter Scheu were re-elected to new two-year terms, joining continuing members Peter Rosenbaum, Grace Gavin Rhodes, Chip Ulich, and R. Duane Wilson.
