The American Society of Theatre Consultants (ASTC) announced new members who have met the qualifications for membership.  The Board of Directors named Brad Kisicki and Owen Hughes as Members while Zachary Briscoe will join as an Associate.   All three theatre consultants have extensive experience working on significant performing arts buildings.

The range of theatre building types on which Owen Hughes has recently consulted, demonstrates his broad knowledge.  His leadership of the Theatre Squared project is a demonstration of a tightly coordinated, environmentally sensitive, and socially responsive design recognized with a USITT Honor Award.  Owen also led the renovation of the Lyric Theatre to prepare for the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.  His work on the challenging renovations for the Studio Theatre DC and LaMaMa reconceived those venues.  An imaginative and versatile dance space at the Doris Duke Theatre for Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival included integrating theatre technology to meet the user’s sophisticated needs.  Owen Hughes is a Director at Charcoalblue.

Among Brad Kisicki’s credits include spending over two years in Dubai coordinating the very complex La Perle by Dragone Theatre.  His renovation projects include the 2,600 seat Jesse Jones Hall and the 300 seat “jewel box” hall – Hilarie and Mitchell Morgan Theater.  Brad’s experience includes extensive production, design and touring and he holds a Master of Architecture degree.  In addition to leading projects as a Principal at Aperio Design, he tailors solutions that address a project’s functional and budgetary requirements.  Other projects include the 1,500 seat Sam Walton Hall auditorium as part of the corporate masterplan for the Walmart conference center.   Brad recently renovated the Ted Shawn Theatre, the original theatre space at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. All construction needed to be completed in a quick nine months so there would be no interruption of their summer season.

        Zachary Briscoe
Zachary Briscoe has applied for and been named an Associate member of ASTC.  He is a Project Theatre Consultant with Schuler Shook in Dallas, TX. Zachary participated twice in the ASTC – USITT Renovation Challenge during his graduate studies at Florida State University.
